Thread lifting in Turkey:
Thread lifting, also known as a thread facelift, is a minimally invasive method of skin tightening that is suitable for patients who prefer a non-surgical approach. This technique is used to gently lift and tighten sagging facial areas, such as the chin, neck, cheeks, eyebrows, and the classic "hamster cheeks", resulting in an immediate lifting effect.
There are three types of threads used in the facelift procedure:
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads, which appear in blue-violet colors;
PLA/PCL (Polylactic acid/Polycaprolactone) structure or just polycarbonate structure, which dissolve slowly (on average in 1.5 years); and
silicone-coated polyester threads, which do not dissolve.
During the procedure, these threads are placed in the areas where the lifting effect is desired, and the tissue is fixed to the barbs of the threads to achieve the desired lifting and tightening effect. In addition to the immediate lifting and smoothing effect, these threads also stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin, provide additional moisture and tension to the skin, and rejuvenate the skin over time. This means that the skin will look fresher and younger in the long term.
The lifting effect lasts on average:
1 year for PDO threads,
2-4 years for P(LA/CL) threads, and
5-7 years for silicone-coated polyester threads.
However, many factors such as the quality and thickness of the skin, as well as adherence to the necessary post-operative rules, can affect the outcome.
There are different techniques for thread lifting application, including threading through a small hole in front of the ear with a needle, or placing the threads in the subcutaneous tissue with a special needle. There is also a technique known as French Lifting, where one end of the thread is attached to the cheek and jawline, and the other end is attached to the scalp.
