Ear Correction Surgery in Turkey:
Ear correction surgery, also known as otoplasty, is a surgical procedure that aims to correct the shape and position of the ears. This type of surgery is typically performed to treat protruding ears or other irregularities in the shape or position of the ears.
During the procedure, general anesthesia is usually used. The surgeon begins by making an incision behind the ear to access the ear cartilage tissue.
Depending on the need, the surgeon may remove excess cartilage tissue, shape the cartilage, or reduce the distance between the ear and the head to achieve a natural shape and position of the ears. After the procedure is completed, the incisions are closed with fine stitches and covered with sterile dressings.
The recovery time from an ear correction surgery is typically about one week, during which patients can use painkillers and cooling compresses to reduce pain and swelling. During the recovery phase, it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities and get enough rest.
How is an Ear Correction Surgery performed?
The operation for protruding ears is performed under general anesthesia. The procedure takes an average of one hour. A very small incision is made behind the ear so that the scar is not visible. The necessary angle is created by reaching the cartilage and the correction is made. After it is fixed in the correct position, the incision is closed with an aesthetic stitch. Stitches are self-melting aesthetic stitches. Afterwards, an aesthetic appearance is achieved.
After the Ear Correction Surgery:
After an ear correction surgery (otoplasty), there are no pain issues that bother the patient. Returning to normal life is possible in a very short time. Since the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, you can be discharged from the hospital the next day. Outdoor errands can be performed as long as the ear bandage is used. Two days later, you will come for the first follow-up. At this follow-up, dressings are changed, and the ear bandage is removed. Redness and swelling in the ear are completely normal. These disappear within a week. Since the incision is behind the ears and aesthetic stitches are used, there are no problems with scarring.
